Fun Success The Chainsmokers Way

If anyone wants a glimpse into behind the scenes action that writing songs requires, The Chainsmokers’ Facebook clip provides it. The duo, Drew Taggart and Alex Pall, are seen busy on their latest track, “Somebody”. The video is less than a minute in length with hopefully more to come in the way of a tutorial later. You get the idea though as Taggart jumps from computer to modular synthesizer to keyboard to mobile device with Pall focused on piano.

The Chainsmokers are a popular DJ and productions duo that enjoyed their start in New York. Now comprised of Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart, originally The Chainsmokers were Alex Pall and Rhett Bixler. Taggart replaced Bixler in 2012. Their big breakthrough came with the single #Selfie”, released late 2013. “#Selfie” did well both on international and Dance/Electronic Songs charts.

The Chainsmokers’ debut Extended Play was “Bouquet” which was released late October of 2015, and featured the commercial hit single “Roses”. Another single, ” Don’t Let Me Down”, featuring Daya, was their first top 5 hit and won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording. Their first number one hit was “Closer”, featuring Halsey. ” Closer” topped the charts in thirteen countries including the United States and the United Kingdom. “Collage”, The Chainsmokers’ second EP, was released in November of 2016.

The Chainsmokers have won several honors. As mentioned ” Don’t Let Me Down” won a Grammy in 2917. “Closer” won a few awards including iHeartRadio Music Award for Dance Song of the Year in 2017. They won another iHeartRadio Music Award in 2018 for their collaborative work with Coldplay, “Something Just Like This”. They won iHeartRadio Music Award for Dance Artist of the Year in both 2017 and 2018. On top of this their single ” Sick Boy” hit the top of the brand new Billboard’s Dance 100 chart.

The Chainsmokers’ Facebook clip gives just a taste of the magic behind their successful songwriting.
