Fresh out of high school, Trabuco went looking for employment as a way to finance putting himself through school. He had aspirations of becoming one of the first members of his family to ever get an advanced degree from a university, a coveted accomplishment for somebody from such a small town as Marilia. He came across a help wanted sign in the branch of a small local bank called Bradesco. At that time, the bank was little more than a tiny regional concern, with just a few branches around the Marilia area.

He was quickly hired on as a bank teller. This was one of the lowest positions that the bank offered. However, over the next few years, Trabuco quickly proved to be one of the most capable employees that his managers had ever seen. He was able to quickly ascend up through the ranks, eventually becoming the branch manager at the bank where he was first hired.

Throughout the 1970s, he was able to put himself through college, eventually getting a master’s degree in psychology as well as a Philosophy of Science Degree from the University of Sao Paulo. This made him a supremely qualified candidate. In 1984, he was giving his first executive role as the head of the company’s public relations division.
